B. MacPaul (Mac) Stanfield

Mac joined Ropes & Gray’s asset management group in 2021 as a funds attorney following two decades of private practice in Des Moines, Iowa, where he represented life insurance companies in all aspects of national commercial real estate lending programs as well as regional business clients in a variety of organizational, contractual, and financial matters. Mac focuses primarily on analyzing and negotiating private equity and other private investment and co-investment opportunities for a wide range of investing clients. 

While in private practice Mac served on firm management, hiring, and strategic planning committees. Mac has also served on the boards for multiple charities supporting the arts and education. While in law school Mac was a member of Law Review editorial board, and served as a research assistant and tutor.
