Jonathan Tong is an associate in Ropes & Gray’s asset management practice, focusing on hedge funds, private equity funds, credit funds and other private investment funds, as well as their advisers. Jonathan advises private fund sponsors and management companies on fundraising, governance, operations, and regulatory compliance matters. Jonathan’s experience also includes representing institutional investors in connection with their private fund-related investments.
Before joining Ropes & Gray, Jonathan was an associate in the asset management & investment funds and corporate tax groups of another large international law firm, where his clients included private fund sponsors, investment advisers and institutional investors. During law school, Jonathan served as the senior technology editor for the Hastings Law Journal and was the vice chair for the UC Hastings Negotiation and Dispute Resolution Team.
