Fahreen Velji joined Ropes & Gray in 2021 and is an associate in the firm’s executive compensation & employee benefits practice group. Prior to joining Ropes & Gray, Fahreen was an associate in the transactional practice group at a nationally recognized employment law firm based in New York. She drafted and negotiated a profusion of contracts, counseled clients regarding restrictive covenant and contract disputes, and served as liaison with tax counsel on all issues arising under Sections 280G and 409A of the tax code and with international counsel regarding overseas employment arrangements.
Fahreen focuses her practice on all aspects of executive compensation and employee benefits matters in connection with domestic and cross-border business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings, and other transactions. She also works with private and public companies on executive compensation issues, including structuring and drafting equity-based and other incentives, executive employment agreements, and separation agreements.
