Tatum Wheeler

Associate

Tatum Wheeler joined Ropes & Gray’s San Francisco office in 2021 and practices primarily in the private capital transactions group. She is actively involved in pro bono and the firm’s diversity activities, including the Women’s Forum.

During law school, Tatum was a member of the UC Irvine Law Review’s all-female executive board as senior diversity and outreach editor and led the Student Bar Association as chair. Tatum represented clients in the Domestic Violence Clinic and participated in a yearlong COVID-19 & Civil Rights experiential course culminating in a report on Native American rights. Tatum led first-year students as a research fellow for legal research and writing and acted as a founder and co-chair of the First Generation Professionals (FGP) Program. Moreover, Tatum dedicated over two hundred hours to pro bono service involving homelessness, immigration, and Title IX claims. Tatum also contributed articles covering sports law issues and later served as the editor-in-chief for Ms. JD. Following her first year of law school, Tatum had a summer legal internship with the San Francisco Giants Baseball Club.

Prior to law school, Tatum worked for a leadership development company, a law firm, and an artificial intelligence start-up.
