Lucy Wang joined the Ropes & Gray corporate department in 2021, with a focus on intellectual property transactions, including in connection with licensing and collaborations, mergers and acquisitions and other strategic commercial transactions.

Lucy also maintains an active pro bono practice, representing asylum seekers in the U.S. and assisting pro bono partner organizations with research in connection with international wildlife crime.

During law school, Lucy served as a line editor and was on the submissions team for the Harvard International Law Journal. She also worked on licensing and privacy matters while participating in her school’s Cyberlaw Clinic. Additionally, she worked as a judicial intern for Justice Jon B. Streeter at the California Court of Appeal, First Appellate District in San Francisco.

Represented and advised PE investors, PE-backed acquirers, strategic acquirers and strategic sellers in a variety of sectors, including software, digital tech and fintech, in the context of mergers and acquisitions, asset transactions, investments and carve-outs. Representative deals include:

  • Represented Bloomberg in its acquisition of Broadway Technology, a provider of front-office fintech technology.
  • Represented TPG Capital in its acquisition of ClaimsXten, Change Healthcare’s claims-editing business, from UnitedHealth Group for $2.2 billion.
  • Advised TPG Capital in its $1.4 billion acquisition of Nextech Systems, a provider of clinical and administrative healthcare technology solutions for specialty physician practices.
  • Advised Charlesbank Capital Partners in its acquisition of Titan Cloud Software, a provider of environmental compliance, advanced fuel analytics and facility management software solutions for convenience stores, fuel carriers and service providers.
  • Represented CIRCOR International in its $1.6 billion sale to KKR.
  • Advised GI Partners in its $1.05 billion acquisition of Atlas Technical Consultants, a leading provider of infrastructure and environmental solutions.

  • Represented The Duckhorn Portfolio, Inc. in its 2022 follow-on equity offering.
  • Represented TransMedics Group, Inc. in its 2022 follow-on equity offering and its 2023 convertible notes offering.
