Jonathan Yan is an associate in the private equity transactions group of the corporate department in Hong Kong. Jonathan focuses his practice on advising various global and regional private equity sponsors on their cross-border buyouts, minority investments and disposals spanning across various sectors including technology, telecommunications, industrials, consumer and real estate. Jonathan also has experience advising international corporates on their strategic investments and acquisitions. 

Prior to joining the firm, Jonathan worked at the Hong Kong office of another international law firm in the private equity practice. 

Experience

  • Advised a leading U.S. investment bank in its various investments and disposals, spanning across the technology and healthcare sectors in Greater China and the Asia Pacific region*
  • Advised a leading European based private equity firm in a variety of acquisition and sale of control stakes in various industries across the Asia Pacific Region*
  • Advised Permira on its acquisition of a majority stake in Topcast Aviation Supplies Limited and its affiliates, the largest independent aircraft parts distributor in Asia Pacific*
  • Advised EQT on its minority investment in VBill, a leading third party payment service provider in China*
  • Advised a leading Asian based private equity sponsor on its acquisition of a control stake in a respiratory care products manufacturer*
  • Advised MBK Partners and TPG on the merger between WTT and HKBN*
  • Advised Partners Group on its sale of global apparel labeling and branding solutions provider Trimco International Holdings Limited to Affinity Equity Partners*
  • Advised Everbright Overseas Infrastructure Investment Fund in its acquisition of Boreal Group, a Norwegian public transport operator*
  • Advised Sun Hung Kai & Co. on various strategic acquisitions, disposals and regulatory matters, including its sale of minority stake in Everbright Sun Hung Kai to Everbright Securities*
  • Advised The Coca-Cola Company on various minority investments and strategic transactions, including the realignment of its bottling operations in China with its two franchise partners COFCO and Swire*
