Counsel

Laura Yockey rejoined Ropes & Gray in 2018 as a counsel in the private equity transaction group in the firm's Chicago office. She focuses her practice primarily on transactional matters, representing private equity firms and public and private companies in connection with acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, financings and other general corporate matters. She is experienced in advising clients operating in the health care and life sciences sector and regularly represents clients in the technology and biotech sector.

Experience

Notable transactions in which Laura was involved prior to joining the firm include:

  • Represented major medical device manufacturer in a variety of mergers, acquisitions and divestitures
  • Represented materials testing company in acquisition of testing provider for the aerospace industry 
  • Represented public biotech company in licensing transaction to acquire exclusive rights to develop and commercialize prostate cancer therapy
  • Represented cleaning technology company in acquisition of UV disinfection portfolio 
  • Counseled various M&A clients with respect to strategic considerations for potential transactions, as well as supported their commercial, tax and finance teams in long-term distribution and supply agreements, reorganizations and general corporate matters
  • Represented various emerging companies in private offerings of convertible notes and preferred stock
