Mike Yu is an associate in Ropes & Gray’s corporate department and practices primarily in the asset management group. Mike assists asset management teams in the representation of private equity funds and their sponsors in connection with various fundraising, structuring, governance, operations, and regulatory matters. He also assists mutual funds, ETFs, and closed-end funds, as well as their boards of directors and investment advisers, in a variety of regulatory, transactional, and compliance matters. 

During law school, Mike was a student attorney in Georgetown Law’s Juvenile Justice Clinic, where he represented adolescents in D.C.’s delinquency system. Mike served as academic co-chair of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association (APALSA). 

Prior to attending law school, Mike worked as a clinical social worker in Boston with high-risk children and adolescents.
