David Zubkis

Associate

David Zubkis’s practice focuses on investment funds making debt and equity investments in public and private companies, often in distressed and special situations. He provides clients with corporate, securities and bankruptcy law advice on all aspects of their transactions, from pre- commitment to execution and ultimate exit, as well as restructurings and reorganizations in the U.S. and abroad. Prior to joining Ropes & Gray, Mr. Zubkis was an associate in the restructuring group of an international law firm based in New York where he represented large and mid-market companies in complex domestic and cross-border chapter 11 cases, out-of-court workouts, and international restructurings across a variety of industries.

Experience

  • Advised bond insurer and directing party in connection with an Irish scheme of arrangement and related chapter 15 case of an Irish public limited company that provided reinsurance with respect to life insurance policies issued in the United States.*
  • Represented bond insurer in the state court rehabilitation of its segregated account.*
  • Represented a digital media marketing company in its prepackaged chapter 11 cases with liabilities in excess of $1.8 billion.*
  • Represented a Texas-based oilfield services company in its prepackaged chapter 11 cases to restructure $1.1 billion in debt.*
  • Represented a globally recognized nuclear power company in its chapter 11 cases involving liabilities in excess of $9 billion.*
  • Represented retailer with more than 4,000 owned and franchised locations globally in its prearranged chapter 11 cases to restructure over $2 billion in funded debt.*
  • Represented a midstream energy company, in its chapter 11 cases and related section 363 sale of substantially all its assets.*
  • Represented New York supermarket chain in its prepackaged chapter 11 cases to restructure $280 million in debt.*
  • Represented a fully integrated oil company in its chapter 11 cases to restructure more than $1.3 billion in funded debt.*
