From 2021-2022, Mike and the Ropes & Gray team worked on two notable transactions for McAfee, a TPG-backed enterprise software company. The first deal consisted of carving out and selling McAfee’s enterprise software business from the consumer business, and then subsequently, selling the consumer business to a consortium of private equity investors. Throughout the episode, Mike and Ed talk about the complexities of the transactions and how the current political climate impacted the deals.
