Ropes & Gray – in conjunction with leading law firms across Europe – has again updated its monthly CSRD Transposition Tracker. The Tracker describes Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive transposition and Omnibus activity across the 27 EU member states and three EEA EFTA countries. This update includes information and developments as of August 31, and for some countries into September, as well as additional commentary from the participating law firms.
The Tracker is available here.
Thus far, 11 countries have adopted legislation to implement the “Stop the clock” directive. Another nine countries have introduced, but not yet adopted, “Stop the clock” legislation. Further details are in the Tracker.
All eyes are now on the European Parliament as it works to finalize its CSRD negotiating position. The Council finalized its negotiating position over the summer. In the meantime, EFRAG continues to work toward finalizing its scaled-back European Sustainability Reporting Standards drafts. There also is speculation on whether and how the recent US-EU trade framework agreement may impact the ultimate shape of the CSRD. See here for Ropes & Gray thought leadership discussing these and other CSRD developments.
