Data, Privacy & Cybersecurity Group

The Data, Privacy & Cybersecurity Practice Group of Ropes & Gray LLP is seeking associates in our San Francisco office. The firm is seeking candidates with 4-5 years of solid experience supporting client matters related to privacy, information security, intellectual property transactions, and/or consumer protection. The successful candidate will have experience responding to cyber incidents and advising clients on relevant privacy and cybersecurity laws for clients across industries. Experience with GDPR and/or CCPA interpretation and application is also relevant. Attorneys in this role will work with financial services, health care, life sciences, asset managers, and technology companies, among others, to ensure their privacy and cybersecurity needs are addressed and issues are solved. The successful candidate will also play a key role in managing and developing junior associates, through overseeing substantive work as well as training and recruiting efforts.

As a member of our Data, Privacy & Cybersecurity Practice Group, the successful candidate will practice alongside some of the most recognized attorneys in the profession. Applicants must have excellent attention to detail, demonstrated leadership ability, strong project and client management skills, and be team-oriented. Experience with project management is a plus. Health Care Group

The Health Care group of the Corporate Department is seeking a highly qualified mid-level associate to join our nationally recognized health care practice. Ideal candidates will have two to five years of broad transactional and regulatory experience in health care law. The ideal candidate would have a good working knowledge of Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act, fraud and abuse compliance issues, HIPAA/HITECH privacy and security, managed care contracting, hospital/physician contracting and relationships including employment and practice acquisition. 

Our lawyers provide advice on complex regulatory and compliance issues, assist with the structuring and negotiation of transactions, represent clients in government audits and investigations, implement a variety of contractual arrangements, and counsel clients on the full range of legal issues affecting the health care industry.

Private Equity Transactions Group (Mid-level)

The Private Equity Transactions Group of the Corporate Department is seeking highly-qualified experienced mid-level associates for our Boston, New York and San Francisco offices. Candidates who will be considered for these positions will have 3 – 4 years of experience at a large law firm and solid experience advising private equity funds and their portfolio companies with respect to sophisticated public or private acquisitions, growth investments and other similar transactions, as well as general corporate matters, including governance and securities law compliance matters. Candidates should have excellent academic credentials and strong analytical, written, verbal and interpersonal skills.

Labor and Employment Department

The Labor and Employment Department is seeking an associate with 3-6 years of experience to join our group in either our Boston, New York, or San Francisco office. This is a partnership-track position. Associates in this role will work on the labor and employment aspects of corporate transactions and draft and negotiate purchase agreements, employment agreements, restrictive covenant agreements, retention agreements, separation agreements, and other agreements in corporate deals. In addition, associates will spend a portion of his or her time on advice and counseling, executive compensation matters, employment litigation, and training. The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail abilities, strong interpersonal and client management skills and be team-oriented to work with attorneys across all offices.
