Our technical advisors play a critical role in the firm’s intellectual property litigation and transaction practices. You will have an opportunity to assist with developing materials for proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, conducting patentability and freedom to operate analyses, assisting with due diligence in connection with a wide range of transactions, including public offerings, mergers and acquisitions and private equity and venture investments. 

Hiring for the technical advisor program is bifurcated into two tracks: Engineering and Life Sciences. We actively recruit students from the top Engineering, Technical and Research Universities and Colleges across the country including U.C. Berkeley, Caltech, Carnegie Mellon, Columbia, Cornell, Harvard, Illinois, Johns Hopkins, MIT, Princeton, Stanford, UT Austin and USC. We encourage all qualified candidates from all engineering and technical universities and colleges to apply. 

Technical Advisors with Engineering Degrees

  • Preferred degrees: Electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, mechanical engineering, and biomedical engineering. Students/graduates at the B.S. – Ph.D. levels are eligible.
  • Offices hiring: Boston, New York, Silicon Valley, and Washington D.C.

Technical Advisors for Life Sciences

  • Preferred degrees: Biology and chemistry Ph.D.s with a background in synthetic organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, immunology, pharmacology, neurobiology, molecular biology, cellular biology and/or biochemistry.
  • Offices hiring: Boston and New York offices.
