Ropes & Gray associates Jonathan Cheng and Nathaniel Kurtis (both of Boston) presented the “Free Basic Legal Consideration Workshop for Small Businesses” at the Asian American Civic Association (AACA) in Boston on May 21. The firm partnered with the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights and Economic Justice to provide pro bono guidance on understanding laws and regulations pertaining to small businesses, how to incorporate, and how to handle common legal issues. The Ropes & Gray presentation was part of a larger program sponsored by Eastern Bank and the AACA aimed at helping small businesses succeed. The event was attended by local business owners and included presentations by the U.S. Small Business Administration and Harvard Pilgrim Health Care.
