On July 23, environmental partner Peter Alpert (Boston) presented as a panelist at the Knowledge Congress webinar titled “CERCLA, Property Damage and Personal Injury Claims Demystified.” Mr. Alpert provided an overview of the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) and the federal causes of action available under the statute. He also examined the recent Supreme Court case CTS v. Waldburger and its impact on plaintiffs’ rights in certain states and on environmental due diligence activities in M&A practices.
