On Feb. 8, Ropes & Gray and the Association of Corporate Counsel’s (ACC) Northeast Chapter co-hosted a Corporate Counsel Institute virtual seminar titled “Acquisitions of Technology Companies.” The seminar drew more than 100 legal and business executives from over 65 life sciences and technology companies.
The program was led by mergers & acquisitions partners Chris Comeau, Brad Flint, and Stephanie Lapidus, IP transactions partners Regina Penti and Melissa Rones, IP transactions counsel Emily Karlberg, and data, and privacy & cybersecurity partners Ed McNicholas and Fran Faircloth.
Topics covered during the seminar spanned major themes in mergers and acquisitions of technology and life sciences companies, including the M&A landscape and recent market trends, as well as developments relating to the COVID-19 pandemic, data privacy, intellectual property, and the antitrust clearance environment, in addition to specific issues relating to buy-side and sell-side M&A transactions.
