ERISA and benefits partner Joshua Lichtenstein will present on a webinar hosted by Morgan Stanley Investment Management titled “DOL Final ESG Rule: Practical Insights Into ESG Integration for Plan Sponsors and Fiduciaries.” The webinar will take place on Wednesday, December 7 at 2:00 p.m. ET.
The DOL recently announced a final rule to explicitly permit retirement plan fiduciaries to consider environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors when selecting investments and exercising shareholder rights, such as proxy voting. Regulators and policymakers are increasingly engaging with ESG risks and opportunities, ESG adoption is on the rise, and plan sponsors are facing the increasingly complex decision of whether to include sustainable investment options to enhance their defined contribution retirement plan offerings.
The panel will focus on the clarification of sustainable investing fundamentals, a review of the ESG investment case, fiduciary responsibility and shifting DOL guidance and sustainable investing implementation options for defined contribution plans.
Joshua will be joined on the panel by Kristin Carcio, an executive director at Morgan Stanley Investment Management, and John Streur, the president and CEO of Calvert Research and Management.
