IP litigation partner Matt Rizzolo moderated two panels at the American Conference Institute’s Annual Practitioners’ Think Tank on International Trade Commission Litigation & Enforcement in Washington, D.C. on March 30.
The panel “Assessing the Trend of Non-Practicing Entities (NPEs) at the ITC: What ITC Practitioners Need to Know” addressed novel questions and consequences surrounding NPE litigation funding in Section 337 investigations, explored new ITC 337 strategies used by NPEs in recent filings and proposed legislation.
The panel on “Gauging the Importance and Use of the NEXT Advocates Program for Less Experienced Attorneys” included panelists IP litigation associate Michael Morales and U.S. International Trade Commission Administrative Law Judge Honorable Monica Bhattacharyya. The panel examined how the NEXT Advocates program has been used and tips from attorneys who have argued at the ITC through the NEXT Advocates program.
