On October 17 in San Paulo, Brazil, global anticorruption & international risk attorney Maria Calvet will moderate a panel titled, “Regional efforts to combat money laundering” at the Latin Lawyer & GIR Live: Anti-Corruption & Investigations Brazil 2023.
Industry experts will address significant anti-money laundering developments in the region, focusing on recent enforcement activity and other governmental initiatives. Panelists also will explore regional collaborations in implementing effective AML policies, including the role of the Financial Action Task Force of Latin America (GAFILAT), and best practices for corporate compliance programs to mitigate AML risks, including integrating emerging technologies like artificial intelligence and increasing use of digital payment and crypto assets.
