Ropes & Gray hosted Harvard Law School Association of New York City’s inaugural Women in Private Equity panel and networking reception on October 17. Private equity investors and industry professionals from diverse backgrounds attended the event.
Ropes & Gray private equity partner Chau Le moderated the panel discussion between preeminent private equity investors and advisers from Carlyle, Clayton, Dubilier & Rice, Latham & Watkins, and Permira Advisers. The panel explored the current private equity investing environment, highlighting opportunities and challenges in the market as we look ahead to 2024 and specifically discussed finding creative solutions to do deals, diversifying financing options, preparing for an uptick in deal activity and navigating stricter antitrust scrutiny, among other industry trends.
The panelists also offered advice to the next generation based on their collective experience, including approaching investing as a team sport, handling the unexpected, and building trusted relationships and networks.
Ropes & Gray is proud to sponsor industry events that empower women to lead in private equity and has long been recognized as a top firm for women attorneys. Ropes & Gray is one of a few elite firms with a woman chair, Julie Jones, and roughly one third of Ropes & Gray’s partners are women.
