Health care partner Brett Friedman presented at a Digital Health New York panel on March 7 entitled “New York Medicaid Innovation: Understanding NY 1115 Waiver and AHEAD Opportunities.”
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) recently approved an amendment to New York’s Medicaid 1115 Waiver, allowing the state to make large investments of approximately $7.5 billion in funding over the next three years across a series of Medicaid initiatives that expand access to primary and behavioral health, address health-related social needs to reduce disparities and promote health equity, and strengthen the health care workforce.
This amendment presents significant opportunities for innovative digital health companies to provide solutions, as well as for hospitals and other health organizations to build population health management infrastructure.
Brett and the panelists addressed critical aspects of the amendment and discuss how organizations, especially companies in the digital health space, can prepare under the New York Medicaid 1115 Waiver and CMS programs and position themselves well for these new funding opportunities.
The event was sold out and saw over 150 attendees from innovative Digital Health companies want to learn more about opportunities under the New York Medical 1115 Waiver.
