On March 18, Ed McNicholas, co-leader of Ropes & Gray's data, privacy and cybersecurity group, and litigation & enforcement partner Amy Jane Longo will serve as panelists at the annual SIFMA Compliance & Legal Seminar.
Ed will discuss current developments in state, federal and international privacy legislation and regulations on the panel, “Current Developments in Privacy: State, Federal, and International.” The panel will also cover impacts of and privacy issues to consider related to efforts around automated decision making, AI, biometrics, and surveillance, as well as the impact of SEC and CPPA rulemaking on the financial services sector.
Amy will discuss strategies, solutions, and risks related to off-platform communications on the panel, “Off Platform Communications: Strategies and Solutions.” Panelists will also review the challenges of compliance in an evolving technological environment, policies, and procedures to prevent (and detect) potential policy violations, and lessons learned from recent enforcement actions.
