Health care counsel Minal Caron will present at the Three I’s: Biosecurity and Research Integrity Conference, taking place in Portsmouth, New Hampshire on May 1 to May 3, 2024. The conference focuses on issues of significance to the “Three Is”: Institutional Animal Care and Use Committees (IACUCs) for animal research, Institutional Review Boards (IRBs) for human subjects research, and Institutional Biosafety Committees (IBCs) for protection of research subjects and personnel.
On Wednesday, May 1, Minal will present a session titled “Research Misconduct: Thorny Issues, Anticipated Regulatory Changes, and Strategies for Risk Management.” The discussion will focus on the latest developments relating to data integrity and research misconduct, including a focus on areas of overlap between the jurisdiction of IRBs and IACUCs and federal research misconduct requirements.
On Thursday, May 2, Minal will participate in a panel session titled “AI Impacting Research – Animal to Human.” The panel includes experts from academic institutions, industry, and federal law enforcement and will focus on key considerations for institutions and researchers looking to utilize artificial intelligence tools for research purposes.
The conference is presented by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Massachusetts Society for Medical Research, the Maine Regulatory Training and Ethics Center, the North Carolina Association for Biomedical Research.
