On June 27, Ropes & Gray hosted its “Cambridge Life Sciences Quarterly” series for a discussion on “China Strategies for Life Sciences Companies, Research Universities and Institutes, and Academic Medical Centers” in Cambridge, MA. The in-person panel presentation discussed the latest updates on recent legislation and rulemaking targeting China-based organizations, including the proposed BIOSECURE Act, the recently-enacted Protecting Americans’ Data from Foreign Adversaries Act, and President Biden’s Executive Order on Preventing Access to Americans’ Bulk Sensitive Personal Data by Countries of Concern.
Life sciences and IP transactions partner David McIntosh moderated the discussions, which featured Asia life sciences partners Katherine Wang and Arthur Mok, and health care partner David Peloquin as panelists. They were joined by nearly senior 50 legal and compliance professionals from multinational life sciences, pharmaceutical and medical technology companies.
The Life Sciences Quarterly is a seminar series held quarterly for Ropes & Gray’s life sciences clients and friends. The series features panel discussions by Ropes & Gray attorneys, industry and government speakers, and other professionals on important developments and issues in the life sciences industry.
