Asset management partner Jeremy Smith will participate in a panel discussion at the Financial Times Future of Asset Management North America conference on October 7 in New York, exploring the rapid evolution of exchange-traded funds (ETFs) beyond their traditional passive investing roots. The session, “The Future of ETFs – Expanding Beyond Passive,” will examine the emergence of actively managed, semi-transparent, and tokenized ETFs, as well as interval fund hybrids and other innovative structures.
Panelists will discuss how actively managed ETFs, direct indexing, and personalized ETF solutions are reshaping the industry and challenging conventional models. The conversation will address whether ETFs are poised to become the gateway for retail investors to access private markets, structured products, and alternative strategies. The panel will also consider the impact of fractionalization, tokenization, and blockchain technology on the next generation of ETFs, along with regulatory and liquidity considerations as ETFs expand into more complex and active strategies.
