Minal Caron, health care and higher education counsel, will speak at the Public Responsibility in Medicine and Research (PRIM&R) annual conference on November 7, on a panel about responsible, principled AI use in research institutions and academic workplaces.
The session will address how leaders can develop clear policies and procedures so that AI is applied responsibly and transparently, supporting decision-making and automation while upholding integrity and accountability. Minal will be joined by panelists from the University of Michigan and the University of Arizona. The panelists will discuss governance frameworks aligned with organizational values and risk tolerance, mitigating privacy, bias, and security risks, and intellectual property and other legal considerations relating to the intersection of AI and health care and research data.
The PRIM&R conference is designed to educate those involved in research and research oversight and to support the field in advancing ethical, responsible and high-quality research.
