In an op-ed article appearing in the Nov. 11 issue of Ignites, investment management partner Brian McCabe explores the recent settlement between the SEC and Manarin Investment Counsel. Mr. McCabe notes that the SEC has apparently broadened the concept of best execution for mutual funds, and suggests, “As a result of this action, fund compliance professionals may want to consider whether their best-execution policies should be revised, as they may not expressly address what constitutes best execution for a fund of funds buying shares of underlying funds.”
