A group led by Altas Partners, including a fund advised by Baring Private Equity Asia, has made a substantial investment in St. George’s University in Grenada. With the investment, Baring and Altas acquired a significant equity stake in St. George’s, a medical university. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Ropes & Gray advised Baring in the transaction, which closed Aug. 8. The Ropes & Gray team included private equity partner Neill Jakobe (Chicago) and tax partner Elaine Murphy (Boston).
