Hedge funds partner Deborah Monson and associate Jeremy Liabo (both of Chicago) authored an article titled “How To Approach New CPO Registration Relief” in the Oct. 30 issue of Compliance Intelligence and an article titled “CFTC Staff Issues Self-Executing Registration Relief for Certain Delegating CPOs” in the Nov. 19 issue of Thomson Reuters’ Derivatives Financial Products Report. In the articles, the authors discuss the Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s recently released letter, which provides self-executing registration relief to commodity pool operators (CPO) of private funds that delegate CPO obligations to another registered CPO entity.
