Investment management partner Brian McCabe (Boston) discusses the proposed plan to establish listing standards for actively managed exchanged-traded funds (ETFs) in a March 31 Compliance Intelligence article titled “Arca Proposal Expected To Ease Active ETF Path.” Mr. McCabe notes that firms would have to apply for these products through the SEC’s Division of Trading and Markets rather than the Division of Investment Management, a process asset managers may not be familiar with and which may take longer.
