On Oct. 26, appellate & Supreme Court partner Doug Hallward-Driemeier spoke at his undergraduate alma mater, DePauw University, about his role arguing the landmark marriage equality case, Obergefell v. Hodges, as part of the distinguished Timothy and Sharon Ubben Lecture Series. Doug explained how DePauw exposed him to the ideas that shaped his own views on marriage, and how he framed his arguments before the court. Past Ubben Lecture Series speakers have included Bill Clinton, Margaret Thatcher, Jimmy Kimmel, Jane Goodall, Elie Wiesel, Tony Blair, Benazir Bhutto, Jesse Jackson, Mikhail Gorbachev and Spike Lee. A written profile accompanies a video of Doug’s lecture available here.
