A Seoul-based Ropes & Gray team recently represented Korea Resources Corporation and LS-Nikko Copper in the sale of a 30 percent interest in Marcobre S.A.C., a Peru-based company that explores, develops and mines copper. The 30 percent interest in Marcobre was acquired by the Peru-based copper and precious metals mining company Cumbres Andinas S.A., which is a subsidiary of Minsur, S.A., a listed Peru-based mining company. Korea Resources Corporation is a South Korea-based mining company engaged in the exploration and development of mineral properties, and LS-Nikko Copper, also based in South Korea, manufactures and sells non-ferrous metals.
Korea Resources Corporation and LS-Nikko Copper were represented by private equity transactions partner Jaewoo Lee (Seoul).
