A March 16 Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly article highlights Ropes & Gray’s ongoing pro bono work with the Political Asylum/Immigration Representation Project (PAIR). The article profiles PAIR’s executive director, Anita Sharma, who discusses the organization’s mission and services, which have become increasingly in demand in light of the White House executive orders on immigration.
Tax & benefits partner and pro bono committee co-chair Jenny Rikoski says in the article that she fell in love with pro bono immigration work after advocating for an Iraqi interpreter who had served the U.S. armed forces. Ms. Rikoski has since represented more than two dozen refugees and asylum-seekers in immigration proceedings. Ropes & Gray’s relationship with PAIR is overseen by Roz Garbose Nasdor, the director of pro bono legal services.
