Health care partner and co-chair Deborah Gersh (Chicago) and health care partner Michael Lampert (Boston) authored a Feb. 5 Law360 article examining a new voluntary bundled payment reimbursement model from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation.
The article addresses key features and program logistics, frequently asked questions and answers and implications for value-based health care. CMS administrator Seema Verma has noted she believes in bundled payment models to reduce health care costs and delivery of improved care, but objected to the mandatory initiatives under the Obama administration.
