An article in the April 2 edition of ACA Insight titled “SEC Commissioner Adds Her Voice to Call for Retrospective Rules Review” reviews remarks delivered by new SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce at the ICI’s 2018 Mutual Funds and Investment Management Conference in which she states she would like the agency to conduct ongoing retrospective reviews of existing rules to assess their efficacy. In a subsequent piece published by Compliance Reporter on April 4 titled “SEC’s Peirce calls for advertising rule changes,” Ms. Peirce outlines that among other rulemaking initiatives, she is pushing the agency to consider updates to the SEC’s advertising rules, as well a new accredited investor standard. Investment Management Counsel David Tittsworth is quoted in both articles.
