In an article published by Bloomberg Law, director of alumni relations Judy Slovin (Boston) discusses some of the program’s more innovative offerings and achievements. The interview in particular highlights the career counseling support Ropes & Gray provides to help place alumni in new jobs, as well as the work it does with clients to help fill counsel roles. Alumni can access a job board, an alumni directory and other resources through a dedicated alumni website. Another aspect of the program the article mentions is the “Re-ttorney” initiative, launched in 2015 to rehire attorneys to fill areas of need for the firm.
Speaking about the firm’s career counseling and placement capabilities, Ms. Slovin said: “It’s good for law firm clients because we’re helping them source our attorneys for their job openings; it generates goodwill with our alumni because we’ve helped them at an inflection point in their careers; and it’s good for the firm because it strengthens relations with clients and with alumni, many of whom become brand ambassadors, some of whom become future clients.”
