An article published in the August 2020 issue of Creditflux titled “Managers advised to refresh disclosures after SEC risk alert” features insights from asset management partner and credit funds initiative leader Jessica O’Mary.
A Risk Alert entitled “Observations from Examinations of Investment Advisers Managing Private Funds,” issued by the SEC on June 24 summarized deficiencies SEC Staff found during recent examinations of private fund advisers. Creditflux cites Jessica’s guidance that credit managers should review their conflict disclosures in the wake of this. “High level disclosures are no longer sufficient,” Jessica highlights, adding that “credit managers should be particularly diligent around client accounts.”
Additional insights from Jessica on this can be reviewed in depth here.
