In a National Law Journal article, IP litigation partner Matt Rizzolo (Washington, D.C.), host of the firm’s Talkin’ Trade podcast, explains that several law firms made lateral hires in the last year of International Trade Commission Section 337 attorneys as ITC cases have risen sharply.
Matt notes that in the current patent litigation environment where injunctions are hard to obtain, the threat of damages alone may not be enough in a high-stakes IP dispute. He said the fast pace, procedural nuances, and powerful remedy of an ITC Section 337 investigation means knowledgeable counsel is needed.
