Ropes & Gray represented Genstar Capital and Association Member Benefits Advisors (AMBA), in the acquisition of Mercer’s Associations business. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The acquisition is expected to close in the second quarter of 2022. The transaction was made public on Jan. 12 in a press release.
AMBA, headquartered in Austin, Texas, is a national affinity-based membership and marketing insurance agency. Mercer's Associations business is a leading provider of end-to-end insurance marketing, distribution, and administration services; Mercer is a business of Marsh McLennan. Genstar Capital is a leading private equity firm focused on investments in targeted segments of the financial services, healthcare, industrial, and software industries.
