Ropes & Gray represented Avista Healthcare Partners and its portfolio company United BioSource LLC (UBC), a biopharmaceutical services provider, in its acquisition of Examoto, LLC, a Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (REMS) company. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The deal was announced on July 28 in a press release.
Examoto is a leader in FDA-mandated REMS compliance platforms addressing safer pharmaceutical outcomes. UBC provides integrated clinical, safety, and commercialization services to the biopharmaceutical market. Avista Capital Partners is a New York-based private equity firm that has invested nearly $8 billion in 40 growth-oriented healthcare businesses around the world.
