Health care and life sciences partner Mark Barnes has been appointed Honorary Consul for the Republic of Botswana. In that capacity, he will, among other duties, assist the Ambassador of Botswana to the United States in conversations and interactions with the life sciences sector, particularly in the Boston area.

Mark’s relationship to the Republic of Botswana dates back to 2004, when he served as the founding executive director of the Harvard HIV/AIDS treatment programs in Botswana, Nigeria and Tanzania, funded under the U.S. President’s Emergency Program for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR).
