Ropes & Gray Represents Arena Investors in Strategic Partnership with CC Capital and Westaim

Ropes & Gray represented the management owners of Arena Investors, LP ("Arena") in a minority investment by CC Capital (“CC Capital”) in The Westaim Corporation (TSVX: WED) (“Westaim”), the parent company of Arena. The transaction creates an integrated insurance and asset management firm through a strategic combination of Westaim, Arena and Ceres Life Insurance Company, an annuity platform incubated by CC Capital. The transaction is expected to provide Arena with long-dated insurance assets and better position Arena to increase its third-party assets under management.

This transaction was announced in a press release on October 9 and is expected to close by the end of the first quarter of 2025, subject to certain regulatory approvals.
