In a Nasdaq article, asset management counsel Edward Baer discussed the firm’s work helping clients seek SEC approval for ETF share class structures and the growing interest in this area.
Ed noted that the firm has advised over a dozen clients on these filings and is supporting efforts around compliance, operations, and governance. He emphasized the potential benefits of ETF share classes, such as operational efficiencies and distribution flexibility, while also noting the significant work required before these share classes can be launched. He concluded that despite these challenges, there is strong interest in ETF share classes, and new offerings could be available by 2025.
