Ropes & Gray advised CAMP4 Therapeutics in a strategic research, collaboration and license agreement with GSK to identify and develop antisense oligonucleotide (ASO) drug candidates for multiple gene targets for neurodegenerative and kidney diseases. The deal was announced on December 18.
Under the agreement, CAMP4 will receive a $17.5 million cash upfront payment. In addition, CAMP4 has the potential to receive additional payments for certain development and commercial milestones, and tiered royalties on future product sales. CAMP4 will use its RNA discovery platform to identify ASO candidates that amplify target gene expression for potential development. GSK will be responsible for the further development and commercialization of ASO drug candidates identified through the collaboration.
The Ropes & Gray team was led by life sciences licensing partner Hannah England and life sciences licensing associate Ian Nilsen.
