Ropes & Gray advised the Special Committee of the Board of Directors of CNL Healthcare Properties (CHP) in the completed merger with Sonida Senior Living, a leading owner, operator and investor in senior living communities. Through this cash and stock transaction valued at approximately $1.8 billion, Sonida has acquired 100% of CHP, creating a combined enterprise with an estimated total enterprise value of $3 billion. The completed transaction was announced March 11.
CHP is a public non-traded real estate investment trust (REIT) with a national portfolio of high-quality senior housing communities. The combination establishes one of the largest senior housing companies in the United States.
