Ropes & Gray represented Varia US Properties AG in its entry into a definitive agreement with affiliates of Brookfield Asset Management to recapitalize 13 of the company's 17-property U.S. multifamily portfolio through a newly formed two-vehicle joint venture, announced on August 13 via press release. The joint venture provides access to up to $200 million of acquisition capital, with closing expected in early Q4 2026.
