Ropes & Gray represented Bain Capital in connection with DRI Healthcare Trust’s acquisition of certain royalty participation rights in U.S. net sales of tavapadon, a Parkinson’s disease drug candidate, for $316 million, payable upon U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval. The deal was announced on September 21. DRI Healthcare is acquiring the royalty participation rights from funds managed by Bain Capital and NovaQuest Capital Management, which sold its interests to DRI Healthcare alongside Bain Capital.
Tavapadon is a once-daily, oral, selective dopamine receptor partial agonist for Parkinson’s disease, with approval expected in 2026.
