Business Restructuring partner Cristine Pirro Schwarzman was chosen by The Deal for its annual list of “Top Women in Dealmaking.”
The award spotlights “women attorneys who are shattering the glass ceiling” in mergers & acquisitions, private equity and business restructuring. The list of 48 women attorneys were selected for their accomplishments advising clients in a variety of transactions.
The Deal awarded Cristine for her work advising debtors in challenging and complex chapter 11 and out-of-court restructurings matters. She was recognized in particular for her work on the restructuring of TOMs Shoes as well as guiding the licensing company Centric Brands through an elaborate and voluntary ch. 11 filing, successfully recapitalizing $1.8 billion in funded debt in just 122 days.
In the last six months, Cristi has also closed an out-of-court restructurings for a dental services company, completed a ch. 11 filing for VIP Cinema Seating, and advised more than a dozen clients on solvency issues related to the pandemic’s adverse effect on the economy.
In 2020, Cristine was also named to the American Bankruptcy Institute’s “40 Under 40” list, a “Rising Star” by Private Debtor Investor, and a “Top U.S.A. Dealmaker” by the Global M&A Network.
