Event
July 12, 2013
Life sciences counsel Katherine Wang and government enforcement counsel Kate Yin led a medical device roundtable in the Shanghai office on July 12. The roundtable brought together senior in-house counsel from multinational medical device companies to discuss challenges associated with distributor management and brainstorm best practices. After presenting on the anti-corruption risks and challenges associated with distributor and third party management in China, Kate Yin led a lively discussion among in-house counsel on the issue. Katherine Wang then presented on the roll-out of collective tendering of high value medical consumables, with the China Country Manager from AdvaMed providing valuable context based on AdvaMed’s discussions with the Chinese government on the topic. The event was very well received, with more than 15 medical device companies in attendance, including J&J, Medtronic, Covidien, BD, Boston Scientific, Edwards Lifesciences, and Siemens.
