Ropes & Gray Hosts “A View from Washington” Addressing Hot and Emerging Topics for Asset Managers

Ropes & Gray hosted a seminar titled a “View from Washington” in its Chicago office on Feb. 7. The CLE seminar, attended by in-house counsel, provided insight on legislative priorities under the Trump administration and the current status of pre-election rules, including an update on anti-money laundering rules for investment advisors and the following topics:

  • Department of Labor’s fiduciary rule
  • SEC liquidity rule
  • SEC derivatives proposal
  • Enhanced data reporting
  • Stress testing/ business continuity
  • Third party compliance exams
  • Prudential regulation

The interactive seminar was moderated by investment management partner Paulita Pike (Chicago). Investment management counsel David Tittsworth (Washington, D.C.) and tax & benefits partner William Jewett (Boston) served as presenters.
